DEMO

Dear prospective partners,

We would like to introduce you the results of CoLiTec (CLT) software implementation and the manual.

Statistics MPC
Software of Automatic Detection of Asteroids and Comets CoLiTec (CLT).
CoLiTec (CLT) was used by Leonid Elenin in his discovery of C/2010 X1 (Elenin) comet 10.12.2010 and P/2011 NO1 (Elenin) comet 07.07.2011.
CoLiTec (CLT) was used by A50 and H15 observatories in their discovery of more than 1000 asteroids (from 1.12. 2010).
Ready for collaboration..

CoLiTec and Gaia-FUN-SSO 2012 Workshop

CoLiTec team member – Vadim Savanevich – together with Leonid Elenin attended Gaia-FUN-SSO 2012 Workshop in Paris. Elenin was representing ISON-NM observatory, its progresses and projects for 2 year period as well as CoLiTec (CLT) software, that awoke considerable interest among workshop participants.
During the workshop Vadim and Leonid had time to discuss future development of the project and possible ways of the software upgrade. They made a decision to create CoLiTec (CLT) light version and to develop a module for fast NEO treatment for the next six months.

Open the Great Comet Comet C/2012 S1 (ISON)

The 21st of September, 2012 – ISON-Kislovodsk observatory’s team discovered Comet C/2012 S1 (ISON) using CoLiTec (CLT) software. This discovery was made due to Vitaliy Nevskiy and Artem Novichenko.
The present Comet in its extreme period will be bigger than a full Moon. And its tail will occupy 45 angular degrees. The Comet might be the brightest one since the Great Comet of 1680, Galilee and Newton time. Any way, it may be called a Christmas Comet of 2014. Of cause, it has first to survive Sun meeting – its perihelion (chances to survive – 50/50).
The Comet was detected by the CoLiTec (CLT) discovery block for objects with near-zero apparent motion. The velocity of this Comet’s apparent motion at the time of its discovery was about ? pixels for a frame.
Due to this discovery, the MPC circular has now the leader of CoLiTec (CLT) project’s – Vadim Savanevich – name, as recognition of the whole CoLiTec team participation in Comet’s discovery.
This discovery is the third comet’s discovery made with CoLiTec (CLT) application. First two of which – C/2010 X1 (Elenin); Р/2011 NO1 (Elenin) were made by Russian expert in comets’ and asteroids’ discovery – Leonid Elenin.
CoLiTec team wants to send its warmest greetings to ISON-Kislovodsk observatory’s discoverers and all members of ISON project. And some special congratulations to Igor Molotov who initiated observation on ISON-Kislovodsk telescope just a couple of days before this discovery was made.
